For North Dakota Local Government.
The North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund was formed in 1986 to fulfill an incredible need for North Dakota’s political subdivisions.
The recession, combined with what could be considered irresponsible management years earlier, left the insurance industry on its knees. Kicking into survival mode, commercial insurers put unprecedented premiums in place and, in many cases, abruptly exited the government insurance market.
This void left North Dakota political subdivisions without coverage and vulnerable to risks associated with providing necessary, valuable government services. With nowhere to turn, they turned to each other and formed the North Dakota Insurance Reserve Fund (NDIRF).
Ever since, the NDIRF has worked exclusively with North Dakota cities, counties, schools, and public entities, offering liability, auto, and public assets coverages, claims services, and risk management resources at a fair price.
As your trusted partner for public risk services, we protect those who protect and serve our communities.
